weekend happenings

this past weekend was pretty glorious. for once, we didn't have any "set plans" with anyone or anywhere. don't get me wrong, i love to be in company with great friends, but every once in a while, it's great to be home with the two boys i love the most.

mason got to watch the first snow fall of the winter season. there is something magical about the first snow. aside staying in our pj's ALL day long, it makes me giddy and hope that we are snowed in for the day, sipping on hot cocoa, playing with mason, and watching movies during nap time :)





"da-da" and mason got to snuggle up too.....i might add that i was jealous. i mean come on, that's a mamas job to snuggle her little's :)



we got to meet up with my sister for a little bit and she game me this awesomely cute shirt for my birthday!!! thanks manda!! i just had to wear it for the 28 week snappy to show it off :)


yes, we are having a cowBOY :)


and last but not least, this weekend was chucked full of.......

tractors. mason has a new love of tractors. "ta-tor" as he would say :) do we have a farmer on our hands?????

a weeks worth {V.1}

a weeks worth of summer!
summer means so many things for me....
summer is so carefree and i love and crave that feeling during the middle of the winter while being a school teacher. summer is always a celebration that work is over, and rest&relaxation has begun! since becoming a mama last august, this summer has especially been more magical. i have a rush of summer happiness, excited to wake up in the early morning(5:30ish) to greet my smiling baby, the carefree feeling, and the feeling of accomplishing many projects!
so far summer is...

a time to sit and relax by mason's pool, put your feet up and to count my blessings :)...
{i know, bad mommy for the sugar high!}

it's a time to enjoy that smiling baby of ours.

it's a time to play peek-a-boo and go in and out of the tunnel.

it's a time to play with cousins.

it's a time to play with "new" toys :)

it's a time to grow!

it's a time to enjoy the outdoors and breathe in that fresh summer air!

a weekends worth...

my oh my, this weekend was a busy one! we spent some of it in omaha, lincoln, and at home, and every moment was lovely! we spent friday at our house preparing, cleaning, and shaping the house up for sunday.

saturday my lovely sister graduated from UNMC(university of nebraska medical center) with her pharmacy degree!





what an accomplishment and i'm thankful i could celebrate that great day with her! :) we drove an hour to lincoln to eat dinner together along with her financy, in-laws, my momma, and sisters.

then on sunday, mason was dedicated at our church. what a special time in the life of us parents, to dedicate our child and promise to raise our babe (and future babes) to be more Christ like. we had both sides of our family to our house to have lunch and fellowship :)

so blessed to hear "ma,ma,ma" come out of our little babes mouth :)

what is it about boys and water????

mason: 8 months

this post is a bit belated, as mason turned 8 months last week, on the 13th! He doesn't have a dr. appointment until next month at 9 months old. so this month i don't have any stats other than he is growing like a weed! He is growing into such a little man - his personality shines through a little more each day, and it is amazing to watch him figure things out in his own little world. he recently has been the happiest when he has his pinwheel in his hands, shoving muffins in my mouth, eating mum mums, and playing with momma :)



this month mason:

is army crawling - can't stay on my knees, guess i'm too big :)
responds well to his name being called
says "ma ma ma" and reaches his arms out for me {i'm totally in love with this baby!}
also says "dada" but without reaching for him {this may or may not make me feel great ha!}
jibber jabbers all day long :)
drools and slobbers alot
almost always has something in his mouth
loves playing peek-a-boo
is curious about everything
loves reading a book with mommy, especially before bed time
is starting to cry when husband or i leave the room that mason is in
loves staring into the mirror and giving himself wet, sloppy kisses
copies any sound that daddy makes









so, yay for mason and yay for 8 months! i'm so thankful God has granted me this time with mason. i desire and pray i'll get to spend a lifetime getting to know this little man.

if any of you are friends of mine via twitter or facebook then you would know we have the sickies at our hizzie. no fun :( just when i think mason is on the mend and getting over his cold......he gets sick again! ugh!

this weekend was my final straw this this whole sickness thing. mason decided he wasn't going to eat. nothing. nada. zilch. sooo frustrating for a momma, but especially a newbie momma! talk about not know what to do! it's not like i have gone through this before to know what is going on! i thought one of two things:
1)teething
2)ear infection - therefore hurting his jaw, therefore not wanting to suck

so i got on the horn with the doctor's office and talked to our nurse and told her all his symptoms. she proceeded to tell us that she would like us to see the doctor in the morning. luckily husband has a very flexible job and can take mason in because i am out of sick days at work because of my maternity leave.
come to find out, mason has a double ear infection. awwww i could have cried!
i'm glad that i finally called to get in to see the doctor.
i didn't want to be a overly protective mom, but i also knew something was wrong, mason just wasn't the same. the one thing about this parenting gig is that it is such a guessing game! i guess i need to get good at guessing what is wrong :)

i hope to be back to the blogging world in full swing once i get my little bear all better :)

some best of the weekend...

...better late than never, right?!

loved this weekend. mason and i spent some quality time with auntie kayla, her baby stella(the white puff ball), and grammy :) the less we do over the weekend, it seems like it is longer. which means it feels like i got to spend lots of time with little mason :)


some how mason caught this nasty cold bug. one minute he has a fever and irritable, then the next he is a happy camper. he has quite the cough goin' on and sounds like a piggy when he breathes. basically he has been taking baths in vicks vapor rub :) praying he gets better soooon!!
when baby ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!

hoping to finish a couple of crafts i have been working on! can't seem to completely finish them, it's like there's a baby living in the house that needs attention or something :)
will post as soon as i'm finished!

is tomorrow seriously wednesday already! yeow!!

things just change...

...when you become a momma!!!! :)

normally husband and i would be spending nye with friends havin' some delicious wines, champagne, and beers ...maybe too many drinks, :) going somewhere for 'after hours', and staying up waaaay too late. but like i said...when you become a momma things change.

instead of 'going out' we stayed in a had some yummy drinks with husband, my 3 sisters, and their husband/boyfriend.
{dang..no snappys of that}

instead of 'going out' we had a fancy pedicure party.
{btw this stuff works...really, really good, its for fast drying nail polish}

instead of 'going out' we played salon and did hair.

instead of 'going out' and staying up too late, we were in bed by midnight or there after....ya know babies like to get up at 5:30 or earlier :)

instead of 'going out' we happily watched babies play :)

instead of 'going out' and getting a sitter to watch the babies, we let them snuggle in bed and watch movies!!!

instead of 'going out' we played the Wii....who knew a 2yr old could be soooo good?!?!!!

though we didn't have our 'usual' nye outings....we enjoyed spending time with little maseypoo and family. i wouldn't trade this mommy-hood gig for anything!!!! :)
