Our little dude tonight....it is 7:53pm and I have seen him a total of 20 minutes today :( and he will be sound asleep dreaming when I get home around 9:30.....this has been a hard day I'll be honest. An emotional day of not being content...wishing i was a sahm and still hoping that day will come. Is it wrong of me to keep praying that day will happen? Is that what God really has in store for our little family?
How could I not love this little dude?? He melts my heart when he reaches with his arms stretched out crying not wanting me to leave him. I feel so guilty leaving my own son and going to work and seeing him 3 hours a day :( ok I'm a mess....pray for me :)
Ps pray for my husband he is going for something that could potentially land me at home :) I just pray and trust that the Lord know whats best for little family :)

this afternoon we spent some time in the great outdoors raking leaves and our little dude was crawling/walking/jumping in the leaves that we were raking.

and some fall pretties :)

ps we find out if our little bambino is a 'he' or a 'she' this friday!!! we can't wait! :)

where should i begin?
...maybe this is a good place....

yep we are waiting patiently for the arrival of our little lovie #2!! :) our lives will be rapidly changing as of february 27th with two liddles at the ripe age of 18 months apart!

we went to the nebraska state fair this fall and had us a blast! mason loooved the action, animals, and many people to watch!

becoming more and more like his daddy! mase says "da-da-da-da" all day long i think. and if not da-da, then it's either touchdown with his hands in the air or saying deer-deer and pointing to our wall mounts :)

continuing to brush his teeth every moment he can.....he has 6 pearly whites in that mouth of his!

oh my gosh. i need to look for jobs in the area that are part-time so i can stay home more with this liddle raccoon....he is growing way to fast and i hate missing this time! seriously, does it get any cuter?

he recently found lil' red out in our yard....he looks at lil' red then back at us, with the look of, ma, dad, are you sure he is safe to touch? the curiosity of a 13 monther :)

reading to us in his spare time, when he isn't literally running around the house, climbing on the couches/chairs, and emptying every drawer, cabinet, basket he can find!

uh, hi ma!!

and loving the wide open spaces the alfalfa field gives him :) an early age to see if he has allergies or not! haha
life hasn't been slowing down a bit now that school started back up, learning a new job as i switched schools, coaching volleyball, playing in a volleyball league, and trying not to fail at being a mother......sometimes life is so hard to juggle. i take that back, not sometimes, ALL the time life is hard to juggle. i need a way to exit this busy world and i am hoping by getting back to blogging that this will do the trick!
so, i can't wait to get caught back up on my fav blogs and get to documenting our lives here at the ehly residence!

a new favorite...
...i am always out on the look-out for something new to make. when i look for new things, it has to be easy and quick too. like quick enough to make while the baby is sleeping. so like at least an hour quick :) i always get in a rut and make the same things over and over. do you have that feeling too? anyways, our church made a cookbook a while back with old favorites and i just discovered this yummy-ness! :) and one of these is probably your whole caloric intake for the day...but, whatever.
butter brickle bars

butter brickle bars
things you will need:
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 lg. egg
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg. butter brickle chips
3/4 - 1 1/2 c. pecan pieces
choc.chips, to taste
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 lg. egg
1/3 c. butter, melted
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg. butter brickle chips
3/4 - 1 1/2 c. pecan pieces
choc.chips, to taste

you will need to mix the cake mix, egg, melted butter and pat into a greased jelly roll pan. i couldn't find my pan at the time so i used a cake pan. now that i have made this, i would really suggest finding your jelly roll pan! :)

pour you sweetened condensed mild on top.

then top with butter brickle chips, pecans(i used pretzels btw, instead of the pecans) and choc. chips.

then pop that baby into the oven for 24 minutes. yes, 24 minutes, not 25 :)
bake at 350 degrees.
seriously, it's the easiest dessert to make. and you family will die from the goodness!!! :)
go get your bake on!

a weeks worth {V.1}
a weeks worth of summer!
summer means so many things for me....
summer is so carefree and i love and crave that feeling during the middle of the winter while being a school teacher. summer is always a celebration that work is over, and rest&relaxation has begun! since becoming a mama last august, this summer has especially been more magical. i have a rush of summer happiness, excited to wake up in the early morning(5:30ish) to greet my smiling baby, the carefree feeling, and the feeling of accomplishing many projects!
so far summer is...

a time to sit and relax by mason's pool, put your feet up and to count my blessings :)...
{i know, bad mommy for the sugar high!}
{i know, bad mommy for the sugar high!}

it's a time to enjoy that smiling baby of ours.

it's a time to play peek-a-boo and go in and out of the tunnel.

it's a time to play with cousins.

it's a time to play with "new" toys :)

it's a time to grow!

it's a time to enjoy the outdoors and breathe in that fresh summer air!

happy summer!

a weekends worth...
my oh my, this weekend was a busy one! we spent some of it in omaha, lincoln, and at home, and every moment was lovely! we spent friday at our house preparing, cleaning, and shaping the house up for sunday.
saturday my lovely sister graduated from UNMC(university of nebraska medical center) with her pharmacy degree!

what an accomplishment and i'm thankful i could celebrate that great day with her! :) we drove an hour to lincoln to eat dinner together along with her financy, in-laws, my momma, and sisters.
then on sunday, mason was dedicated at our church. what a special time in the life of us parents, to dedicate our child and promise to raise our babe (and future babes) to be more Christ like. we had both sides of our family to our house to have lunch and fellowship :)
